NDA Cadets Undertake Cross-Country Trek in Celebration of 75 Years of Excellence

Pune, June 8, 2023: In honour of the momentous occasion marking the '75 Glorious Years of the National Defence Academy (NDA),' cadets and staff members from the NDA in Pune have embarked on treks to various corners of India. The first trek to Guhar Moti, the westernmost point of the country, took place from May 30 to June 5.

A group consisting of 12 NDA cadets, including two female cadets, accompanied by three instructors, commenced their journey from Pune on May 30. Along the way, they engaged with defence personnel and school children, fostering meaningful interactions. On June 3, the team reached Guhar Moti village, where they interacted with the local community. Additionally, the cadets visited the Army Public School (APS) in Bhuj, where they motivated and inspired NCC cadets, encouraging them to pursue a future in the Armed Forces. This expedition also afforded the participating NDA cadets a unique opportunity to witness the remotest corners of India and its military installations, including a visit to the Air Force Station in Bhuj.

According to a press release issued by the NDA, “These treks aim to raise awareness about the National Defence Academy while highlighting the pivotal role of the Armed Forces in the nation’s development and safeguarding its borders. The celebrations and commemorative activities marking the 75 glorious years of the NDA will continue throughout the year, culminating on January 16 and 24.”
