Panchgani Municipal Council stands at number 1 under Municipal Councils with Less than 15K local population in the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan 3.0

Panchgani Municipal Council has secured the top position in the Maharashtra State rankings for the category of local populations below 15,000.

In a recent achievement, the Panchgani Municipal Council has secured the top position in the Maharashtra State rankings for the category of local populations below 15,000. This outstanding recognition was awarded as part of the prestigious Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan initiative.

The ceremony took place in Mumbai and was graced by notable dignitaries, including Assembly Speaker Shri Rahul Narvekar, Revenue Minister Shri Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.

Panchgani Chief Officer – Shri. Girish Dapkekar, Mr. Suresh Madke(Department of Health), Sanitary Inspector Mr. Ganesh Kasurde, Mr. Digvijay Gadhave, Mr. Omkar Dhol proudly accepted the certificate on behalf of the Panchgani Municipal Council.

The city of Panchgani is well known to for its top notch quotient in cleanliness and environment protection. In the year 2022, Panchgani won 1st Rank in Swachh Survekshan(President award winner) and National Tourism award winner(Vice President award), Jal Abhiyan Award and award for Garbage Free City of India. The awards were received by Chief Officer Shri Girish Dapkekar and Sanitary Inspector Mr. Ganesh Kasurde.

The Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan holds two primary objectives. Firstly, it aims to encourage active citizen participation in various climate change mitigation efforts, promoting timely and innovative approaches. By fostering public engagement in environmental activities, the initiative strives to create a collective and sustainable future. Secondly, it seeks to identify dynamic and scalable measures that can contribute to a greener environment and be replicated across different areas.

The Panchgani Municipal Council’s exceptional work in the field of environment and climate change has earned them the prestigious first position in Maharashtra State. This recognition highlights their team dedication and commitment to building a sustainable and eco-friendly community.

The picturesque hill station of Panchgani rejoiced upon hearing the news of this remarkable achievement. The employees of the Panchgani Municipal Council were filled with pride and joy. PMC CO Shri.
