Pune-based Entrepreneur Punit Balan Group Empowers J&K Cyclist Bilal Ahmad Dar’s Olympic Ambitions

Pune: Punit Balan, a prominent entrepreneur, filmmaker, philanthropist, and ardent sports enthusiast, has joined forces with the Indian Army since 2018 to advocate for free education and give a good life to the children affected by drugs and militancy in the picturesque valley.

The Punit Balan Group (PBG), headquartered in Pune, has been actively nurturing the aspirations of young talents from Jammu & Kashmir, providing them with opportunities to participate in prestigious international sporting events across various disciplines. Dar, the only international cyclist from the valley, has already established himself as a welknown figure in the world of sports. With great enthusiasm, PBG has made a steadfast commitment to support Dar’s journey towards representing India at the Olympics. They have pledged to provide him with all the necessary resources and assistance to help him realize his dreams.

Expressing his gratitude, J&K cyclist Bilal Ahmad Dar shared, “I am elated by the trust placed in me by Punit Sir and his team. My goal is to represent India at the Olympics, a feat that remains unachieved, and I am relentlessly working towards turning this dream into a reality. With the support I have received, I am confident that I will leave no stone unturned in my efforts.”

Hailing from the picturesque Kawoosa village in Budgam district, Bilal Ahmad Dar was discovered during a talent hunt in Srinagar and has since gained recognition as a highly skilled and dedicated cyclist. He has already earned recognition by winning a silver & bronze medal in the Asian Junior Championship in 2019. He also acheived two silver medals at the Asia Cup in 2018. Dar expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the trust and support extended by Punit Balan and his team, emphasizing his unwavering determination to realize his dream of representing India at the Olympics.
