Traffic Changes for Palkhi of Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj

In light of the upcoming Palkhi ceremony of Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj, several traffic changes have been implemented in the district. These changes aim to facilitate the smooth movement of the procession and ensure the safety of the participants and commuters. As a responsible authority, we urge everyone to be aware of these alterations and consider using alternative routes during this period.

Changes in Traffic Routes

Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Route

The route for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi procession spans from Pune to Pandharpur via Saswad and Lonand. To streamline the movement and avoid congestion, certain roads will be closed during specific timeframes. It is essential to familiarize yourself with the following traffic changes:

  1. Pune to Saswad (Saswad Stay):
    • Duration: From 2 am on June 14 to 12 pm on June 16
    • Route Closure: Traffic from Pune to Saswad via Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat will be closed entirely during this period.
    • Alternative Route: Commuters can take the Khadimachin Chowk-Katraj-Kapurhol route to reach their destinations. Traffic coming from the Saswad side will enter Pune via Garade-Khed Shivapur.
  2. Saswad to Jejuri (Jejuri Stay) and Jejuri to Walhe (Walhe Stay):
    • Duration: From 2 am on June 16 to 12 pm on June 17
    • Recommended Route: Vehicles travelling from Pune to Saswad-Jejuri-Walhe-Nirawade and Nira to Pune should utilize the Jhendewadi-Pargaon Memane-Supe-Morgaon-Neera route.
    • Additional Route: On June 18, from 2 am to 5 pm, the alternative route of Saswad-Jejuri-Morgaon should be used.
  3. Lonand to Pune and Phaltan:
    • Duration: June 16 to 18
    • Traffic Diversion: Vehicles coming to Pune from Phaltan-Lonand and vice versa should pass through Shirwal during this period.

Similarly, the route for Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession, which runs from Pune to Solapur via Roti Ghat, Baramati, Indapur, and Akluj, will undergo traffic changes. Here are the details:

  1. Pune to Saswad (Saswad Stay):
    • Duration: From 2 am on June 14 to 12 pm on June 16
    • Road Closure: Traffic from Pune to Saswad via Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat will be closed entirely during this timeframe.
    • Recommended Route: Commuters should follow the Khadimachin Chowk-Katraj-Kapurhol route. Traffic coming from Saswad will enter Pune via Garade-Khed Shivapur.
  2. Saswad to Jejuri (Jejuri Mukkam) and Jejuri to Walhe (Walhe Stay):

    • Alternate Route: Vehicles travelling from Pune to Saswad-Jejuri-Walhe-Nirawade and Nira to Pune should utilize the Jhendewadi-Pargaon Memane-Supe-Morgaon-Neera route.
    • Additional Route: On June 18, from 2 am to 5 pm, commuters should take the alternative route of Saswad-Jejuri-Morgaon.
  3. Lonand to Pune and Phaltan:
    • Duration: June 16 to 18
    • Traffic Diversion: Vehicles travelling between Lonand, Pune, and Phaltan are advised to pass through Shirwal during this period.
  4. Lonikalbhor to Yavatmal (Yavatmal Stay):
    • Duration: From 2 am to 12 pm on June 15
    • Solapur-Bound Traffic: Vehicles heading to Solapur from Pune should use the Wagholi-Kesanand-Rahu-Pargaon-Chauphula route.
    • Pune-Bound Traffic: Traffic coming from Solapur to Pune should follow the Chauphula-Pargaon-Rahu-Kesanand-Wagholi route.
  5. Baramati to Sansar (Sansar Stay):
    • Duration: June 19
    • Traffic Diversion: The road from Junction to Baramati will be closed for traffic from 2 am to 12 pm. Traffic from Walchandnagar and Indapur will be rerouted via Junction to Baramati-Ashti through Kalas. Traffic coming from Baramati will go to Bhigavan, then Kalas Junction.
  6. Baramati to Indapur, Sansar to Anthurne, and Anthurne to Nimgaon Ketki:
    • Duration: June 21, 2 am to 12 pm
    • Traffic Route: All vehicles traveling from Baramati to Indapur should take either the Baramati-Kalamb-Bavda-Indapur or Baramati-Bhigavan-Indapur route during this period.
  7. Nimgaon Ketki to Indapur:
    • Duration: June 22, 2 am to 12 pm
    • Diversion: Traffic from Nimgaon Ketki to Indapur will be closed during this timeframe. Vehicles coming from Indapur to Baramati should use the Loni Deokar-Kalas-Junction or Loni-Deokar-Bhigavan route.
  8. Indapur to Sarti:
    • Duration: June 24, 2 am to 12 pm, and June 25, 2 am to 12 pm
    • Recommended Route: Traffic on the Indapur to Akluj road will be closed entirely during the specified timeframes. The alternate route passes through Indapur-Hingangaon-Temburni-Ganeshgaon-Malinagar-Akluj. Vehicles travelling from Akluj to Indapur should follow the Akluj-Natepute-Walchandnagar-Junction-Bhigavan route.
