Health Department Clarifies: No Proposal for Privatization of Pune’s District General Hospital

The protest staged by Shiv Sena on Wednesday aimed to express their strong opposition to the perceived privatization attempt at Aundh District Hospital. Party members criticized the alleged plan, expressing concerns about its potential impact on public healthcare access and quality.
The Deputy Director of the Health Department, Dr. Radhakishan Pawar, clarified that no proposal for privatizing the District General Hospital in Pune has been submitted. He confirmed that no decision has been made in this regard. Dr. Pawar addressed recent media reports about the hospital’s privatization, highlighting that his office has not received any proposals regarding this matter.
Given the misinformation circulating in the media, Dr. Pawar urged citizens not to believe such news and reassured them that there is no truth to the claims of privatization. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services and requested the public to disregard the false information.
