‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ Campaign in Pimpri Chinchwad, Bringing Government Benefits to Citizens

The 'Shasan Aplya Dari' campaign in Pimpri Chinchwad, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is a significant step towards delivering government certificates and benefits directly to the citizens. With a wide range of certificates and services being distributed, this campaign aims to improve accessibility and convenience for the eligible beneficiaries.

Pune, June 15, 2023 – In an exciting development, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), in collaboration with the Maharashtra state government, is all set to organize the ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ (government at doorstep) campaign. The campaign aims to bring government certificates and benefits closer to the citizens. Notably, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will preside over the event, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 16, at Thergaon from 3 pm onwards. The campaign is expected to provide numerous certificates and benefits to eligible beneficiaries of government and municipal corporation schemes.

Distribution of Certificates and Benefits

Under the ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ initiative, the government will distribute various certificates and benefits free of cost. The program aims to make the application process more accessible and convenient for the citizens. The event venue, Thergaon, will witness the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with other notable dignitaries such as Chandrakant Patil, the State Higher and Technical Education Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister, MP Supriya Sule, Shrirang aka Appa Barane, Dr. Amol Kolhe, MLA Uma Khapare, Sangram Thopte, Anna Bansode, Mahesh Landge, Ashwini Jagtap, Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, District Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, and Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey.

Certificates that will be distributed include:

  1. Income certificates
  2. New voter registrations
  3. Resident certificates
  4. Satbara (land record)
  5. 8 A (birth certificate)
  6. Caste certificates for residents of Haveli taluka
  7. Age certificates
  8. Domicile and nationality certificates
  9. 33 percent women reservation certificates
  10. Senior citizen certificates

Additionally, various services will be provided, including:

  1. New corrections and updates of Aadhaar cards
  2. Linking of voter ID cards with Aadhaar cards
  3. Name reduction and addition on ration cards
  4. Sanjay Gandhi Niradadhar Anudan Scheme
  5. Certificates for economically weaker sections
  6. Non-criminal certificates for not belonging to advanced and advanced groups

Implementation of Welfare Schemes

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, through the Social Development Department of the PCMC, will personally distribute the benefits to the eligible beneficiaries. The Municipal Corporation has introduced two notable schemes for the welfare of citizens. The first scheme, known as the Divyang Kalyankari Yojana, focuses on individuals with mental disabilities such as cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities. Under this scheme, the municipality covers the annual insurance premium of Rs 500 for each beneficiary citizen, providing them with medical treatment up to Rs 1 lakh annually.

The second scheme, the Niramay Arogya Bima Yojana, aims to provide financial assistance to disabled students pursuing higher education, such as medical and engineering degrees. These students will receive a grant of Rs 1 lakh for the first year. Furthermore, individuals with disabilities will also receive financial aid up to Rs 1 lakh based on their specific needs and the type of disability, which can be utilized to purchase suitable equipment. Additionally, the municipality extends financial assistance of up to 50 percent of the sanctioned bank loan or up to Rs 1 lakh to disabled individuals for starting their own business ventures.

Empowering Women and Children

The PCMC has taken significant steps to empower women and children through various schemes. Under the Women and Child Welfare Scheme (Rambhau Mhalgi), girls are provided with financial assistance of Rs 7,500 for technical training or engineering diploma courses. Another initiative, the Pramod Mahajan Women’s Higher Education Financial Assistance Scheme, offers selected women pursuing higher education courses abroad a financial grant of Rs 1.5 lakhs for the first year. The scheme also provides a financial aid of Rs 15,000 to women self-help groups that have completed six months. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will facilitate the distribution of benefits under these schemes.

Educational Support for Students

Recognizing the importance of education, the PCMC has implemented measures to support students’ academic journeys. Starting this year, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will deposit Rs 3,500 in parents’ accounts for students in classes I to IV, while students in classes V to VIII will receive Rs 3,700 for school materials. These amounts have been determined based on the market price of quality materials. The distribution of these benefits to eligible beneficiaries will occur during the specified period.

Gharkul Scheme for Economically Weaker Sections

To address the housing needs of economically weaker sections, the PCMC has implemented the Gharkul scheme under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). The scheme aims to provide affordable housing solutions to citizens in need. Out of the total 158 buildings in the scheme, flats in 147 buildings have already been allotted. The remaining six buildings will allocate a total of 252 flats during the specified period, ensuring that more families have access to secure housing.

Unveiling of Shri Mahatma Basaveshwar Maharaj’s Statue

In a gesture of honor and reverence, the PCMC has erected a statue of Shri Mahatma Basaveshwar Maharaj in Nigdi. The statue, covering an area of approximately 3,150 square meters, stands as a symbol of respect and admiration. The surroundings of the statue have been thoughtfully landscaped, enhancing its visual appeal. To mark the significance of this occasion, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will unveil the statue, signifying the deep-rooted cultural heritage and values embraced by the municipality.
